It is very sad, but I will have to move to blogspot.com, Unfortunately i am not comfortable with the editing tools provided by maktoob, as I need sophisticated tools that help in robust editing thus I will not be able to use Maktoobblog.com, as blogspot offers more customization and specially the email publishing which is not working in maktoob, don't know why..

A lot of poeple were asking me why i am not writing any more, well, this is because a lot of reasons:

1- I got married so preparations was very hard and time consuming, add to this the new married life style.

2- I was so busy in the financial year closure, lot of projects and demands on us to meet the numbers.

3- I was just joined the Microsoft consultant services team as a business guist, I will join Microsoft Gulf for the upcoming 9 months as Infrastructure consultant, this added a lot of load and load, I joined MS from an exactly a month now, but I promise you that I will start writing some fantastic articles that you used to get like before.

I will create a new PS1 file, that will make our life a lot easier, that do most of typical exchange 2007 configuration instaanlty based on user input, Currently i am thinking about the following;

- Take external and internal domain names, internal host name, external host name, server name as variables.

- Configure the external URL and internal URL for OWA , activesync virtual directory.

- Create accepted domain list and set the send/receive connectors.

- Create 3 storage groups (heavy, medium and low) and create 3 storage groups.

Currently I am working on:

- Adding section to create and prepare certificate request file.

- Install antispam agent and do basic configuration.

- OWA Certificate issuance and binding after getting the certificate

- Enable Outlook Anywhere

- Create Active Sync policy

- Create a Disclaimer Transport Rule (Optional) taking Text as a variable

Well, most of us had issues with backing up Exchange 2007 using Veritas 11d, I fought for over of 2 months to get it working and finally I did, I found that there is a lof of folks out there that were fighiting with it with no luck, but after opening so many cases with Symantec and Microsoft we managed to push it to work, most of us got the ugly error:

Final error: 0xe0008488 - Access is denied.
Final error category: Security Errors

the attached file is the converted Management pack from MOM 2005, it was a huge trouble to know that the MP for SCOM will be relaeased from Microsoft in Q3 2007, but as a quick aid this MP will help you, just ocnvert it to XML and import it to the SCOM server
